Cirlces of life go round and round and round ..

Yes, the Spurs are still THE pick in this series, down 2-3, heading towards this evening’s Game 6 … but reading a nice piece like this one:

Driven West, Hornets show staying power
In the game of his life, with the Hornets moving within a victory of the NBA’s Final Four, [David] West has made himself a worthy heir to the Spurs dynasty. Three months ago, David Robinson, who started it all for the Spurs, told a young All-Star to think big this season, to dream beyond his wildest dreams.

about a young man like David West (NCAA D1, 2003 National Player of The Year) makes it just that much easier to entertain the (slight?) possibility that, just perhaps, this corner’s initial assessment might still turn out to be … something less than correct.

That said, however … one SHOULD also

Never under-estimate the heart of a champion.” – Rudy Tomjonovich

especially with his back against the wall … and the ‘Torches of Transfer’ being lit, in advance.

Yessirree, Robinson … to Duncan … to West … might have a nice circular ring to it and, in fact, might well happen sometime in the not-too-distant future … but the betting from, at least, this corner is that … it ain’t gonna be tonight.

Save me a seat tonight, Sir, for the show where the next step in the passing of the torch will take place. I hear there is going to be retirement home tour after the game as well. Some of the Spurs have been invited to see what lies in the future after a few more years of playing. *hears window closing* 🙂

Haha. I hear they’ve got the orange jello in the retirement homes tonight!

Nah, but seriously… I think it’ll go to 7. The Spurs have been here before and they’ll die hard, Bruce Willis-style.

  5. FLUXLAND Says:

Coincidently, Horry, Manu, Bowen and TD love orange jello! 😉
I’m bringing a box of Depends for the team to share. I’m really going to enjoy watching the Spurs fans stand there in disbelief, realizing it may be time to switch teams.

Even if it does go to 7, the Spurs dynasty is over. There are far too many teams in the West that will abuse them from now on, like old guys that get worked at the YMCA.

    FLUX,

Some of us just love jello, period!

    Quote #1

… is now, permanently, carved in stone … and brings to mind this next one, as well …

    Quote #2
This report of my illness grew out of his illness, this report of my death was an exaggeration.”
    – Mark Twain

We shall see in a few minutes time, just how far the Spurs have slipped from the throne (or not).

  7. FLUXLAND Says:

    I hate jello! Yuck!

Considering that the average age of the Spurs is 145 in basketball years.. I’ll stand by said quote until proven otherwise.

  8. khandor Says:

As the siwee rabbit in my neighbourhood use to say, back in the day,

    (contrary to popular belief perhaps)

Trix … and (orange) jello are both … for kids, not ancient warriors.”

Monday night, in New Orleans, is going to be a fun game.
