Live Blogging Event: Cleveland @ Boston, Game 5

Click on this link.

Note: Was just over at the Fanhouse’s Live Blogging Event for tonight’s game and got the distinct impression that it was a waste of time and energy … few comments, even fewer about the game and a bunch of useless chatter about nothing connected to the game.

If you’re interested in commenting on the actual game … come on by and participate in a REAL live blogging event, right here instead.

Welcome Aboard!

Hey, really nicely done. I’m really sorry I didn’t get a chance to participate. I was hoping to do some live blogging during the Lakers game tonight as well, but it’s been a crazy day. I just finished my last two finals last this afternoon (yes, I’m still in school), and was so exhausted that I decided to take the evening off and just enjoy the game. Of course, the game was one of the most stressful I’ve seen in quite some time as I knew a Lakers loss would practically result in a series loss. It was intense, but I am 100% in to do this in the future some time. We shall communicate to figure out the details… hope all is well

    Thaks for your comment.

If you haven’t done so yet, take a look at the transcript of the Utah @ LA, Game 5, ‘Live Blogging Event’, in the next entry on this blog. Might be one or two things there that a Lakers’ loyalist like yourself can appreciate. πŸ™‚

Hopefully you will be able participate next time.

Think you were a lil’ tough on Fanhouse there chief…

Yes, there’s flippancy. But that can be fun too.

  7. khandor Says:

As you can see from looking at the transcript of last night’s two Live Blogging Events on this site … flippancy, in addition to basketball related commentary isn’t something objectionable in the least.

Problem with the Fanhouse’s Live Blogging experience last night was that many of the other participants (in addition to me) were calling for there to be more stuff published concerning the game, knowing that we (i.e. they and me) had submitted A LOT of really good/solid basketball stuff that was simply left on the cutting room floor (so-to-speak), never to see the light of day … for no other reason but the Host refused to publish it.

IMO … that’s NOT how a Live Blogging Event is SUPPOSED to run.

  8. withmalice Says:

I think you’re ignoring the fact that at a Fanhouse live-blog event, a HEAP of stuff gets submitted at the same time, and can be missed.

Your slight dig at me advertising your SA/NO liveblog noticed… appreciated.

  9. khandor Says:

Nawh, I don’t think I’m ignoring that aspect of it at all.

If there’s a heap of good stuff submitted then there’s a simple way to handle that … e.g. install more panelists to assess the submitted material easier/faster/better/thoroughly/etc. and then publish the good stuff pertaining to the game, asap.

As I said before, the major problem wasn’t that just my stuff about the game was being ignored by the host BUT that several others submitted comments like this … e.g. “Hey, are there any comments being submitted about the game? Where are the comments about the game? I sent in comments about the game, where are they?” etc., that were published … while, at the same time, the other comments that WERE being published by the host had to do with irreverrent material NOT related to the game … e.g. “Hey, what was the name of that musical group? How did those lyrics go again?”, etc.

Nothing wrong with irreverence, IMHO, but in addition to commentary about the game … not as a replacement.

What ‘slight dig’ are you talking about?

(as far as I can recall, I haven’t thrown a dig your way … πŸ™‚ … yet … jk … and, if you advertised my Live Blogging Event, no way I would take a ‘dig’ at that … that would be terrific and very much appreciated!)

  10. withmalice Says:

Did throw links your way – twice now over your live-blogs… thought your commentary about ‘flippancy’ was a bit of a light-hearted jab. All good.

  11. khandor Says:

    Thanks for throwing the links.

Thanks for participating yourself in the Live Blog last night.

    Glad that “all is good”.

    Keep on truck’n. πŸ™‚
